Guests of honor were; Her Royal Highness Princess Michael of Kent, and Anna Moffo Sarnoff, retired Diva of the Metropolitan Opera. This recipient of the Albert Schweitzer Award was given at Larry's portion of the concert in Atlanta, September 1, 2002.
Members of the social press of New York attended the luncheon and Larry played, "If I Could Tell You of My Devotion," a piece written by Idabelle Firestone. Anna sang this piece to start the Firestone Hour many years ago. The Princess was so thrilled with this piece that she asked Larry if he could provide words for all the guests to sing. The whole room broke into song at the conclusion of the lunch. We named it, "The Princess Karaoke." |
